The RF welder was controlled by a Servo Press Cylinder and servo motor controlled slides. Dual Shuttle RF Welder Uses

The front to back servo motor controlled RF welder is designed for quick cycling and precision port welding applications. The slides move in and out in 1 second. The press is supported by four columns, which holds a Servo Motor cylinder. The Nests are floating and are centered by a toggle mechanism, to 100% die alignment, which guarantees 99% zero channel leaks.

RF Welding Process Control

Easy - Reliable - Streight Forward.

ONEX RF has developed process control, which makes process validation easy and repeatable.

The closed-loop process control, real-time seal-process monitoring with data logging, helps you set process parameters and achieve acceptable quality seals in a matter of minutes. The hybrid generator uses an AGC to maintain exact RF power at all times, which eliminates process variations during validation.

RF Sealing butterfly pouch with 2 ports (proprietary PVC-Mix material)

The PVC-Mix material was very sensitive to the applied pressure and RF power, thus the RF welding process required extreme fine control. During the welding process we had to properly control the servo motor applied force in order not to crash the material. We achieved this by initial pressure on the film and as we applied RF power we slowly extended the servo slide to maintain constant pressure, which was monitored by the load cell. After fine tuning the process, we were able achieve perfect welded pouches with nice bid formation.
